Key takeaways
- The Delete account card is at the bottom of the Account page. Delete account in the section menu at the top of the page jumps straight to it.
- You confirm with a 6-digit code from your email and by typing DELETE in capital letters.
- Deletion is permanent: your apps stop working, earnings not paid out yet are lost, and records required by law are kept.
How do you delete your Moonetix account?
Open Account in the sidebar, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click the red Delete account button. Enter the 6-digit code we email you, type DELETE, and click Permanently delete account, then confirm once more. The deletion happens right away and cannot be undone.
Before you delete
Deleting is final, so take five minutes to check what you would lose. The card itself says: “Permanently deletes your account and your apps. This cannot be undone, and earnings not paid out yet are lost.”
- Your apps stop working. Every app is deleted with the account, so offerwall links, the floating Earn button and SDK integrations on your site, app or community stop loading offers, and no more postbacks reach your server. Remove the wall from your property first so your users do not see a broken page.
- Earnings not paid out yet are lost. This includes conversions that are still pending: they are closed with the reason “The publisher account was closed.” Check the Payments page first. See publisher earnings and reversals.
- Referrals end. Your referral link stops working, and commission not paid out yet is lost with your other earnings.
- Your payout method is removed together with your sign-in details and application.
- You need a new sign-up to come back. There is no restore. A new account starts from zero and goes through the publisher review again.
Do not delete to fix a security problem
If you think someone else has access, deleting does not undo what they did and it destroys your own records. Lock the account down instead: Log out everywhere, change your password and turn on login verification. What to do if your account is compromised lists every step.
Delete or something smaller?
Many people who look for the delete button want something less drastic. Pick the smallest action that solves your problem.
| What you want | Better option | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Stop marketing emails | Turn off Marketing emails. Account and security emails still arrive. | Account, Profile information |
| Stop being logged in on a shared computer | Log out everywhere | Account, Sessions card |
| Change the email or name on the account | Change email or a new Username | Account, Profile information; see How to change your username or email |
| Stop logging in with Google or Discord | Unlink that account | Account, Sign-in & security |
| Close your Moonetix account and its data for good | Delete account | Account, bottom of the page |
Step by step
- Click Account in the sidebar, under the Account heading. The Account settings page opens.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page, or click Delete account in the section menu at the top of the page. You will find the Delete account card there.
- Read the text on the card, then click the red Delete account button. We email a 6-digit code to your account address, and you will see “We sent a code to … Enter it below to delete your account.”
- Type the code into Code from the email.
- In Type DELETE to confirm, type DELETE in capital letters.
- Click Permanently delete account. A window asks “Delete your Moonetix account and all of its data permanently?” Confirm to finish, or Cancel to stop.
You are logged out and taken to the login page, which shows “Your Moonetix account was deleted.”
Why a code and the word DELETE? The code proves that the person deleting the account also controls its email, so someone at an open browser cannot do it. Typing DELETE stops an accidental click. The OWASP Authentication Cheat Sheet recommends this kind of fresh check before any sensitive account action. Why account changes need a code explains how Moonetix uses these codes.
On a phone
Tap More in the bar at the bottom of the screen, then Account. Tap Delete account in the section menu, or scroll all the way down to the card, and follow the same steps.
What is deleted and what is kept
When you confirm, the deletion happens right away. Removed:
- Your email address and sign-in details, including your password and any linked Google or Discord account.
- Your apps and their click, conversion and postback records, your notifications, sessions, trusted devices, security activity and payout method.
Kept: records we must keep by law, such as payment records with their billing details, and records needed to prevent fraud. If your account has payment history, those records stay as a closed record without your email address or sign-in details. If it never had a payout, the account record is removed completely.
The Privacy Policy lists the periods (checked on November 4, 2026): invoices, payment records and settlements up to 7 years for accounting and tax, records linked to confirmed fraud up to 5 years, and support correspondence up to 3 years after the last message.
Why some records stay
Privacy laws give you a right to erasure, but not without limits. The European Data Protection Board’s guide to individuals’ rights explains that an organisation may keep data when it must do so to comply with a legal obligation, or to establish or defend legal claims. Tax and accounting rules are the typical case, which is why payment records outlive the account.
Clean up Google and Discord too
Deleting your Moonetix account removes the link on our side. Google and Discord may still list Moonetix among the apps you once signed in to. Google’s help page Manage links between your Google Account and apps from other developers shows how to review those connections and choose Stop using Sign in with Google for an app. If you used Discord, check the apps you authorized in your Discord settings as well.
If something goes wrong
- “This code has expired. Request a new code.” Codes expire after 15 minutes. After that the Delete account button comes back, so click it again for a new code.
- “That code is not correct.” Check the latest email from us. The message tells you how many attempts are left; after five wrong tries you need a new code.
- “Type DELETE in capital letters to confirm.” Type the word exactly, without spaces.
- “Please wait … seconds before requesting a new code.” You can request a new code once a minute.
- No email? Check your spam folder, and make sure you are looking in the mailbox shown on the Account page.

Frequently asked questions
Can I undo a deletion?
No. Once you click Permanently delete account and confirm, the account and its data are gone and cannot be restored.
What happens to earnings not paid out yet?
They are lost, including pending conversions. Check the Payments page before you delete.
What happens to my offerwall after I delete?
Your apps are deleted, so the wall stops loading offers and no more postbacks are sent. Remove the wall from your site or app first.
Why do I need an email code?
The code proves that the person deleting the account also controls its email address, so nobody can delete it with only access to an open browser.
Does Moonetix keep any of my data?
Only what the law or fraud prevention requires, such as payment records with billing details. Your email address and sign-in details are removed.
Can I sign up again later with the same email?
Yes, the email is freed when the account is deleted. The new account starts empty and needs a new publisher application.
I only want to stop logging in on a shared computer. Should I delete?
No. Use Log out everywhere on the Account page instead. See Login verification, trusted devices and sessions.
