How do you monetize an online community?
You monetize an online community by adding revenue that fits how members already behave: supporter perks, sponsors, disclosed affiliate links, and an optional earn page. On the earn page, signed-in members complete offers from advertisers, such as trying an app or finishing a survey, and receive your points. Your server credits the points from a signed postback, and you earn for each completed offer. The page lives on your own forum or member site. Facebook groups and WhatsApp channels can link to it, but never host it.
How it works for Communities.
From the first click to the reward in your currency, in five steps.
Member signs in
A member logs in to your forum or member site. Your server knows their account ID and their points balance.
Opens your earn page
Your server signs an offerwall link for that member and shows it on the earn page, in an iframe or behind the floating Earn button.
Completes an offer
The member picks an offer that fits their country and device, such as an app trial or a survey, and finishes the required step.
Postback hits your server
Moonetix sends a signed server-to-server postback with the member’s ID and the reward in your points.
Points land on the profile
Your server adds the points once per transaction. If the result is reversed later, a second postback tells you to take them back.
Why Communities owners add Moonetix.
One pay-per-result affiliate network, built around your currency and your users.
Your points, your name
Call them credits, karma or coins. You set the currency name, icon, conversion rate and rounding for your community.
Perks you already control
Members spend points on things you run: badges, an ad-free view, name colors or premium sections. No cash handling is needed for that.
Revenue from non-paying members
Most members never buy a supporter tier. An optional earn page gives them a way to reach the same perks, and you earn per offer.
Matches your theme
Set colors, corner radius and fonts with a live preview, so the wall looks like part of your forum, not a third-party pop-up.
Fraud kept off the wall
VPN, proxy, Tor and data center users are blocked from the wall, and every offer is reviewed by the Moonetix team before it goes live.
See what each placement earns
Reports show clicks, conversions and reversals by country, offer and sub ID. Tag the earn page and the Earn button to compare them.
A points shop members understand.
Members spend points on perks you already control. Clear prices and a balance they can see make the earn page worth opening.

Perks, not cash
Points buy things you run on your site. Members never cash them out, which keeps your forum out of payment rules.
Show the prices first
Put the shop next to the earn page so members know what an offer is worth before they start.
Take back reversed points
When a postback reverses a result, remove the points. Explain this on the earn page so nobody is surprised.
Keep your community within the rules.
Your forum rules are yours to write. Facebook and WhatsApp have their own, and they apply to every post that points members to your earn page.
Do
- Host the earn page on your own site and link to it from your group or channel. Members sign in there, and each gets their own signed link.
- Tell members what points buy, how long credits can take, and that a reward can be taken back if the advertiser reverses the result.
- Ask for date of birth at sign-up and show the earn page only to members 16 or older, with parental permission under 18.
- Point members with a missing reward to /missing-reward, where the Moonetix team answers them.
Do not
- Never give points for likes, shares, follows, comments, votes or invites. Meta’s Spam policy bans offering anything of monetary value for engagement.
- Never post a signed offerwall link in a group, channel or thread. It belongs to one member and would credit them for everyone who uses it.
- Never frame the earn page as a giveaway or a chance to win. Meta’s Spam policy also bans cash giveaways entered by engaging.
- Never post links that promise one thing and lead to another, or flood a WhatsApp channel with promos. Both platforms can remove you for it.

Set it up in four steps.
Apply with your website
Sign up and apply with the site where members have accounts, not only the group. Every application is reviewed by hand, and apps you add after approval are live right away.
Set up your points
Add the site as an app. Set the points name, icon, units per $1, user split and wall design. The virtual currency calculator helps you pick a rate.
Put the wall on your site
Your server signs the link with the member’s account ID. Show it in an iframe or the floating Earn button. On WordPress, see this guide.
Credit points, then test
Credit from the signed postback and remove points on a reversal. Run a test postback as testing before launch shows, then announce the earn page.
What could it earn?
Slide to your audience and adjust the assumptions. The rates are an example, not a promise: placement, countries, and devices change every result.

Still have a question? Contact us
How can I monetize a forum?
Common options are supporter perks, sponsors, disclosed affiliate links, display ads and an optional earn page where members complete offers for your points. How to monetize a website compares them.
Can I monetize a Facebook group with an offerwall?
Not inside Facebook. You build a companion website with member accounts, host the earn page there, and post about it within Meta’s rules. How to monetize a Facebook group covers the options Meta offers.
Can I put an offerwall in a WhatsApp channel?
No. A channel cannot host one, and a signed link belongs to one member. Share a link to the earn page on your own site, where each member gets their own link.
Can members turn points into cash?
That is your choice and your responsibility. Many communities keep points for perks they control, such as badges, ad-free browsing or premium sections, which avoids running payouts.
Can I reward members for posting or voting?
Your own forum rules decide that, but Moonetix only pays for completed offers, so posting or voting rewards come out of your pocket. On Facebook, Meta bans offering anything of monetary value for engagement.
How old do members have to be?
End users must be at least 16, with parental permission under 18. Keep the earn page away from communities for younger teens.
How much can a forum earn from an offerwall?
It depends on how many members open the earn page, where they live, their devices and the offers they finish, so there is no fixed figure. Try illustrative numbers in the offerwall earnings calculator.
