How do you add an offerwall to a Discord server?

Put the offerwall on your own website, not inside Discord. Members sign in on your site and link Discord with OAuth2. Your bot answers /earn with a private link button to your earn page, signed for their site account, never their Discord user ID. When a member completes an offer, Moonetix sends a signed postback to your server. You add the coins, and your bot shows the balance and grants the roles or perks members buy with them.

How it works for Discord.

From the first click to the reward in your currency, in five steps.

  1. Member links their account

    They sign up on your site, confirm they are 16 or older, and link Discord with OAuth2. The wall only ever sees their site account ID.

  2. They run /earn

    Your bot answers with an ephemeral reply only they can see, holding one link button to the earn page on your website.

  3. The wall opens on your site

    Offers show in your coin name and design, matched to the member's country and device.

  4. They complete an offer

    For example, install a game and reach a level, or answer a survey. The advertiser confirms the result.

  5. Your server adds the coins

    A signed postback reaches your backend, you credit the coins, and /balance shows them. A reversal takes them back.

  • Private by default

    The reply is ephemeral, so only the member who ran /earn sees the button.

  • Linked account first

    Map the Discord user to the account on your site. The offerwall link carries your site’s user ID, never a Discord ID.

  • Coins from the postback

    When an offer is credited, your backend adds the coins and your bot reads the new balance.

Stay inside Discord’s rules.

Discord allows bots and community currencies, but its Developer Policy, Community Guidelines and Monetization Policy set clear limits. These are the ones an earn setup touches.

Do

  • Put your own site account ID in the offerwall link. Developer Policy rule 17 bars disclosing API Data, such as a Discord user ID, to any monetization-related service.
  • Show the earn link only when a member asks for it, with a slash command and an ephemeral reply. Announce the earn page yourself in a channel members follow.
  • Check age on your site. Discord’s minimum is 13, but Moonetix end users must be at least 16, with parental permission under 18.
  • Keep one account per person with a verified email, and credit coins only from the signed postback, once per transaction ID.

Do not

  • Reward joins, invites, boosts, bumps, messages or reactions. Discord treats purchased or induced server joins and invite rewards as platform manipulation.
  • DM members about offers or post offers in channels. Rule 5 bars unsolicited DMs, and rule 6 bars targeting users with advertisements or marketing.
  • Let offer-earned coins feed slots, coin flips or other chance games. Discord’s Monetization Policy lists simulated casinos among content it will not let you monetize.
  • Use bots or alt accounts to inflate membership, or automate messages to keep channels busy. Developer Policy rule 13 forbids both.

Can you make money from a Discord server?

Yes. Servers earn with Server Subscriptions, sponsorships, affiliate links, donations, and a points program where members earn coins from offers. How to monetize a Discord server compares them.

Is an offerwall allowed on Discord?

Discord has no rule that names offerwalls, so follow the rules that clearly apply: keep the wall on your own site, open it only when a member asks, never send their Discord ID to it, and never reward joins or invites.

Can I use the Discord user ID as the offerwall user ID?

No. Developer Policy rule 17 bars disclosing API Data to monetization-related services, and a Discord user ID your bot reads is API Data. Use the member’s account ID on your own site.

Can members buy roles with the coins they earn?

Yes. Your backend can grant a role through Discord’s API after a purchase, as long as the bot has Manage Roles and its role sits above the roles it gives. Keep these roles cosmetic, never staff powers.

Can I reward members for inviting friends or boosting the server?

No. Discord’s Platform Manipulation Policy names invite rewards and induced server joins. On Moonetix, coins come only from completed offers, never from joins, invites, boosts or messages. Grow your server the organic way instead.

How old do members have to be to use the offerwall?

At least 16, with parental permission under 18. Discord’s own minimum is 13, so ask for a date of birth on your site and keep younger members away from the earn page.

How do I stop alt accounts farming coins?

Use one account per person with a verified email, cooldowns and transfer limits in your bot. Users on VPNs, proxies, Tor or data center networks are blocked from the wall. See stopping multi-accounting.
