Key takeaways

  • Go to Apps, click New app, fill in General and Currency, and click Create app. Once your publisher account is approved, every new app goes live right away, without a review of its own.
  • Every app gets every integration at once: the offerwall by link, iframe or floating Earn button, the Offers API, and the mobile SDKs for Android, iOS, Flutter, React Native and Unity.
  • A new app opens on its Postback tab, because your users are only credited once your server receives our postbacks. The Website or app URL is fixed once the app exists.

How do I create my first app on Moonetix?

Log in, open Apps in the sidebar and click New app. Fill in the General section (App name and Website or app URL) and the Currency section (Currency name, Conversion rate, Split to user and Reward rounding), then click Create app. Because your publisher application was already reviewed by hand, the app goes live right away and opens on its Postback tab, with your offerwall link, embed code and keys ready in the Integration tab.

You can add apps once your publisher application is approved. Until then, Apps, Offers and the reports in the sidebar show a lock and send you to Apply as publisher. Get your publisher account approved explains the application and what our team looks at.

Before you start

In Moonetix, an app is one website, game, mobile app, bot or community where you show offers. Each app has its own statistics, keys, postback URL, currency and wall design. You decide how many you need: one app per property is the usual setup, and Run several apps in one account covers when to split.

Have these ready before you open the form:

  • The address where the wall will live. It must start with https://. It cannot be an IP address or localhost, and it cannot be changed after you create the app. Google’s web.dev guide to HTTPS explains why: it stops intruders from tampering with or listening in on the traffic between your site and your users.
  • The name of your currency. Up to 10 characters, for example Coins, Points or Gems. Paying in dollars? Use $.
  • A rough idea of your rate. How many units of your currency equal $1 of your earnings. How to set your virtual currency exchange rate helps you pick one.
  • A plan for your postback handler. Your server must credit users when our postback arrives. You can build it before you create the app with the postback docs.

Your account can have up to 5 apps. If you reach the limit, the New app button is turned off and the Apps page says so. Email partners@moonetix.com if you need more.

Step by step

  1. Log in at moonetix.com/login.
  2. In the sidebar under Publish, click Apps. The page lists each website or app where you show Moonetix offers.
  3. Click New app at the top right. If you have no apps yet, the same button also sits in the middle of the page under “No apps yet”. The Add a new app page opens.
  4. Under General, fill in App name, 3 to 80 characters. It is how the app shows up in your dashboard and in the browser tab of your offerwall.
  5. Fill in Website or app URL, the full address starting with https://. Only pages on this domain can embed your offerwall in an iframe, so use the site where the wall will really live.
  6. Under Currency, set Currency name, Conversion rate and Split to user (%), a whole number from 1 to 100.
  7. Pick Reward rounding: Whole numbers for coins or points, or Up to 3 decimals for dollar balances.
  8. Check the How your users are rewarded box next to the fields. It shows what your user gets for every $1 you earn and for three sample payouts, and you can type your own payout into the last row.
  9. Click Create app. A message confirms “Your app is live. Set up your postback, then add the offerwall to your site.”, and the app opens on its Postback tab.

What every field means

FieldRulesCan you change it later?
App name3 to 80 charactersYes, in the General tab
Website or app URLFull https:// address, no IP address or localhostNo, it is locked once the app exists
Currency nameUp to 10 letters, numbers or spaces; a sign like $ worksYes, in the Currency tab
Conversion rateUnits of your currency per $1 of your earnings, before the splitYes, in the Currency tab
Split to user (%)Whole number from 1 to 100Yes, in the Currency tab
Reward roundingWhole numbers or Up to 3 decimalsYes, in the Currency tab

The split decides how much of your earnings your users receive as currency. You are paid in USD either way. Rounding matters more than it looks: offers that would give your user 0 after rounding are not shown. With Whole numbers, 16.65 becomes 17; with Up to 3 decimals, 0.0084 becomes 0.008. Set up your app currency walks through the Currency tab in depth.

Tip: add the bonus later

The new app form has no Bonus box. Once the app exists, its Currency tab has an optional time-limited bonus: a percentage on top of your rate, paid from your own share, with optional start and end times and a daily or weekly repeat. Your users see a live countdown on the offerwall while it runs.

What happens after you click Create app

  • The app appears on the Apps page, and you get a Your app is live notification. The row shows the App ID with a Copy ID button and a Postback line that reads Not set up until you add your postback URL.
  • The app has five tabs: General, Currency, Postback, Design and Integration. When you open it later with Manage, it starts on Integration.
  • The Postback tab is where you paste your Postback URL, see the macros, and send a test postback. Until it works, your users are not credited. Test your app before launch shows the full check.
  • The Integration tab has three tabs of its own: Offerwall (link, iframe and floating Earn button), Offers API and Mobile SDK, plus Keys and security and Statistics in your own tools. Integration status explained covers the status check on that tab.
  • The offers the app shows, and the ones you hide, are managed on the Offers page in the sidebar, per app.

There is nothing to choose between integrations when you create the app. Every app has all of them with the same App ID, keys and postback, so you can start with the link, add the iframe later, or build your own wall with the API. Iframe, link or API? helps you decide, and Moonetix integrations at a glance lists every option.

Keep your keys on your server

The Keys and security step in the Integration tab holds the values that sign your offerwall links and verify our postbacks. Treat them like passwords. The OWASP Secrets Management Cheat Sheet warns against secrets hardcoded in source code in plain text; for an offerwall that means you build the signed link on your backend and never ship the salt or secret inside a web page or a mobile app. Keep your app secret safe and Rotate your keys and link salt cover the details.

Why the website URL is fixed

The URL controls where the wall may be framed. Browsers enforce this with the frame-ancestors rule of Content Security Policy, which, as MDN’s reference puts it, specifies the valid parents that may embed a page in an iframe. Locking the address keeps your statistics clear and stops other sites from framing your wall. The direct offerwall link still works anywhere, including in a mobile WebView, an email to a signed-in user or a bot message. To embed the wall on a second site, add a new app for it.

On a phone

The sidebar is hidden on small screens. Apps is in the tab bar at the bottom of the screen. The form is the same, with the fields in one column, and the app tabs sit in one row that you swipe sideways.

If something goes wrong

  • “Use 3 to 80 characters.” The App name is too short or too long.
  • “Enter the full address of your website or app page, starting with https://.” The URL uses http, an IP address, localhost, or has no domain ending.
  • “You have reached your app limit”. You already have 5 apps. Email partners@moonetix.com to ask for more.
  • Apps shows a lock. Your publisher application is not approved yet. Open Apply as publisher to see where it stands.

Stuck on a step?

Moonetix is a pay-per-result affiliate network, and your app is how you run it on your property. If something on the form is unclear, open Chat with us in the dashboard and include your App ID. Frequently asked questions

Is every new app reviewed?

No. Our team reviews your publisher application once, by hand. After approval, every app you create goes live right away and you can use it at once. Our team can still pause an app later, for example for poor traffic quality or a break of the rules.

Can I change how I show the offers later?

Yes, at any time. Every app has the offerwall link, iframe, floating Earn button, Offers API and mobile SDKs with the same App ID, keys and postback, and your statistics show Offerwall, Offers API and Mobile SDK separately.

How many apps can I add?

Up to 5. If you need more, for example for several websites, email partners@moonetix.com and our team can raise the limit.

My website moved. Can I change the URL?

No. The address is fixed once the app exists. To show the offerwall on the new site, add a new app for it.

Can I delete an app?

Yes, until its first user opens an offer: open the app, go to the General tab and click Delete app. After that the app stays, so your reports and payouts stay complete; email partners@moonetix.com if you want to close it.

What does a paused app mean?

Our team paused it, so its offerwall link does not work and your users see no offers there. Rewards from a paused app are held for review, and your other apps keep working.
