Key takeaways
- Ezoic now asks new sites for 250,000 or more monthly active users, so smaller sites usually start with AdSense, Journey by Mediavine or Monumetric instead.
- Pick an alternative by your traffic size and geography first: most managed ad programs count only visitors from the US, UK, Canada and Australia or set a share they must make up.
- Communities, games and apps with logged-in users can earn from a pay-per-result offerwall instead of more display ads, but it does not replace ads for anonymous readers.
What are the best Ezoic alternatives?
The best Ezoic alternatives depend on your traffic. Small sites can start with Google AdSense (no published traffic minimum) or Journey by Mediavine (1,000 premium sessions a month), sites with 10,000 to 80,000 monthly page views on WordPress or Blogger can look at Monumetric’s Propel program, and growing sites can apply to Raptive (25,000 monthly page views) or Mediavine ($5,000 in annual ad revenue). Large publishers with their own ad operations can use Google Ad Manager or a header bidding partner such as Setupad. If your site is a community, game or app with logged-in users, a pay-per-result offerwall such as Moonetix is a non-display option to add.
Why publishers look for Ezoic alternatives
Ezoic is a display ad platform for publishers. People look elsewhere for a few concrete reasons:
- The entry bar went up. Ezoic’s requirements page says sites generally need 250,000 or more monthly active users. Publishers who started before February 19, 2026 keep their access, and smaller sites may qualify for its Incubator program, but a new 30,000-visitor blog no longer meets the main bar.
- Grandfathered status can be lost. The same page says a grandfathered site under 250,000 that removes Ezoic for more than 7 days loses that status and must meet the new requirement to return. If you are testing another network, read that line first.
- Page speed and layout. Any display setup adds scripts and ad slots. Google’s web.dev guide to layout shift calls ads one of the largest contributors to layout shifts on the web and recommends reserving space for each slot. Publishers who want fewer, fixed placements sometimes prefer a network with a simpler layout.
- Earnings for their traffic mix. Display revenue depends heavily on where visitors come from. Tier 1, 2 and 3 countries explained covers why the same page views can earn very different amounts.
None of these makes Ezoic a bad choice for every site. They are reasons to compare before you switch, and to check the switching rules so you do not lose access you already have.

Ezoic alternatives for small sites
Google AdSense
Google’s AdSense eligibility requirements list an age of 18 or over, high-quality original content that attracts an audience, and access to your site’s HTML, but no traffic number. The payment thresholds page sets the USD threshold at $100. AdSense is the simplest background layer, though “no minimum” is not the same as automatic approval; AdSense not approved? covers the common reasons, and How much does AdSense pay? sets expectations.
Journey by Mediavine
Mediavine’s post on two years of Journey (August 7, 2026) says the program now needs 1,000 premium sessions a month, meaning traffic from markets like the US, UK, Canada and Australia, and that sites are not penalized for traffic from other countries. For a small English-language site, it is one of the lowest bars among managed programs.
Monumetric Propel
Monumetric’s Propel requirements set a range of 10,000 to 80,000 page views a month, a $99 implementation fee, a WordPress or Blogger site, at least 50% of traffic from the US, UK, Australia and Canada, and a minimum of 6 ad slots on desktop and mobile. That slot minimum is worth weighing if you left Ezoic because of ad density.
Alternatives for growing and established sites
Raptive
Raptive lowered its minimum to 25,000 monthly page views (updated October 16, 2025). Its application guide adds that most traffic should come from the US, Canada, the UK, New Zealand and/or Australia, Google Analytics must be set up correctly, and content must be original and brand-safe. It also says it will not remove you if traffic later drops below the bar.
Mediavine
Mediavine’s approval page sets the bar for its main program at $5,000 or more in annual ad revenue, asks for original, audience-first content, and looks for good standing with Google AdSense or Ad Exchange. Sites that cross Journey’s bar and keep growing often move up to it.
Alternatives for large publishers
Google Ad Manager
Google’s Ad Manager sign-up page says you need a valid AdSense account to sign up and describes Ad Manager as a platform for large publishers with significant direct sales. It gives you control over direct deals and third-party demand, but you run the setup yourself or with a partner. What is ad mediation? and What is header bidding? explain the two ways demand partners compete for each slot.
Setupad
Setupad offers managed header bidding on top of your own Ad Manager account. Its FAQ says the Prebid setup needs full admin access to your Ad Manager account and its IDs in your ads.txt file, payments have a €100 minimum threshold with smaller amounts rolled over, and the first payment is issued 60 days after the end of your first month. The FAQ does not state a traffic minimum, so ask before you apply.

A non-display option for community sites
Every program above sells ad impressions. If your property is a forum, a game, a Discord or Telegram community with a companion site, a rewards site or an app, another model may earn more from the same users: an offerwall. Users choose to open it, complete offers such as trying an app or answering a survey, and earn your own currency, while you earn per completed offer. It is pay per result, not per impression, so ad density and page speed do not drive it.
Be honest about fit. An offerwall needs logged-in users with a reason to earn, such as points, coins, ranks or premium features. It does not replace display ads on a recipe blog or a news site whose visitors arrive from search, read once and leave. Many community sites run both: display ads on public pages and an offerwall on a members’ earn page. What is an offerwall? covers the model, and Offerwall placement covers where to put it.
Do not mix rewards with display ads
Google’s AdSense Program policies forbid compensating users for viewing ads and, outside Google’s own rewarded inventory, asking anyone to click or view ads. Keep any reward currency tied to completed offers on the wall, never to ad views or clicks on your display units.
How to switch from Ezoic without losing revenue
- Check your own status first. If you are grandfathered under Ezoic’s old rules, removing it for more than 7 days ends that status.
- Get approved before you remove anything. Apply to the new program while Ezoic still runs, and plan the switch for a low-traffic day.
- Update ads.txt. Replace the old entries with the new network’s lines on the switch day.
- Compare like for like. Track RPM per page view for two to four weeks before and after; eCPM vs RPM explains which number to use, and the eCPM calculator helps with the math.
- Watch Core Web Vitals. Reserve space for each ad slot, as the web.dev guide recommends, so the new layout does not shift content.
How to add Moonetix to your site or app
If your community or app has logged-in users who earn a currency, these steps add Moonetix next to your display ads.
- Apply as a publisher at moonetix.com. Every application is reviewed by hand, and once you are approved, apps you add are live right away.
- Add your site or app in the dashboard and set your currency name, icon, conversion rate and wall design.
- Use a signed offerwall link or iframe from your server (Offerwall link docs) on a members’ page, the floating Earn button, or an SDK for Android, iOS, Unity, Flutter or React Native in an app.
- Credit users only on your server from the signed postback, then follow Test your app before launch.
Moonetix as a non-display alternative
Moonetix is a pay-per-result affiliate network: your users earn your currency on the offerwall and you earn per completed offer, with reports by country, offer and sub ID. See how the wall works or get in touch.
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum traffic for Ezoic in 2026?
Ezoic’s requirements page says sites generally need 250,000 or more monthly active users, with publishers who started before February 19, 2026 grandfathered and an Incubator program for some smaller sites.
What is the best Ezoic alternative for a small blog?
Google AdSense publishes no traffic minimum, and Journey by Mediavine needs 1,000 premium sessions a month. Monumetric’s Propel program starts at 10,000 monthly page views on WordPress or Blogger.
Is Mediavine better than Ezoic?
They suit different sites. Mediavine’s main program asks for $5,000 in annual ad revenue and focuses on original content sites, while Ezoic now targets sites with 250,000 or more monthly active users. Compare RPM on your own traffic.
Does Raptive accept international traffic?
Raptive’s application guide says most of your traffic should come from the US, Canada, the UK, New Zealand and/or Australia, alongside 25,000 monthly page views.
Can I use AdSense and another ad network at the same time?
Often yes, but each network has its own rules about exclusivity and ad placement, so read both policies before you run them on the same page.
Can an offerwall replace display ads?
Only on properties with logged-in users who earn a currency, such as communities, games and apps. On a content site with anonymous one-time readers, display ads still fit better.
